ERP and CPQ Configurator at MAFU-SHERPA

As MAFU-SHERPA grew, spreadsheets and manual coordination became a risk. Sales, purchasing, manufacturing, inventory, and accounting needed to work from the same data, while product configuration contained many technical dependencies.

The core question was not only which ERP system to use. It was which process logic belonged in the standard ERP and which logic needed a focused extension so sales and manufacturing could work reliably.

CERTAINCE introduced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for stable commercial and operational processes: sales, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, logistics, finance, and document processing.

The differentiating logic was not left to the standard. For MAFU-SHERPA’s complex product configuration, CERTAINCE built a custom CPQ directly inside Business Central. Sales teams enter customer requirements in a structured way; the system derives bills of material, routings, and sales quotes.

Business Central stayed the single system for master data, orders, and accounting – extended with tailored configuration logic exactly where the standard could not represent special-purpose machine building precisely enough.

MAFU-SHERPA received an ERP setup that does not bend standard processes unnecessarily, while still representing its own product logic. The configurator reduces manual quoting and manufacturing work because bills of material, routings, and quotes come from the same structured requirements.

The solution creates better data for operational decisions, cleaner communication with business partners, and less risk in recurring commercial and manufacturing-adjacent workflows.
